Once Upon a Time.....
I had time. lol
Time to blog, time to read, time to... brush my teeth.
I need to move "blogging" up higher on my list of things to do before I run out of time altogether. :) :) :)

Baby Update!
Yesterday I had a Dr's appointment and ultrasound. I am happy to report that all seems well w/ little Miss! She seems to be healthy although, not very cooperative. :) I hope this isn't her personality shining through already. GULP! She has her spine out, facing my stomach, and her face and front are squished into my back, using my placenta as a pillow. :) After trying different techniques to get her to turn, she was still just as stubborn as ever! We did get some measurements and some pictures as well as a neat DVD. But I will have to go back in 3 weeks to do the measurements again. We did get multiple gender peeks though. This little girl is NOT shy. One thing the Dr's were able to see, is that I have a very posterior placenta! YEAH! This is very important and something I have been very anxious to know. Because I've had so many c-sections, I have about a 40%-50% chance of having Placental Accreta. In this condition the placenta attaches to the uterine scar from the previous c-sections and cannot detach the way it is supposed to. Risks are severe hemorrhaging. Most placental accreta patients have a 50% chance of needing a blood transfusion and in more severe cases a hysterectomy. I am so thankful that I have a great uterus for multiple c-sections. :)
I'm feeling ok pregnancy wise. I'm starting to get big, and I know it will just get worse. lol. My stomach is in constant pain from all the injections, but I know it's for a good cause. My BP is ok, but rising a bit. I think it's due to some weight gain (blah) as well as hot summer days. I seem to ALWAYS be pg in the summer. lol. I'm getting excited for the weeks to turn into months, and to be holding my new little girl! Luckily, life never seems to be boring for the Super Q's and we have lots to do to keep us busy!
Here are a few pics of miss Lyddie. Not the best pics, as I said, she was stubborn and they are also pictures of pictures. But I'm hoping to get better ones when I go back on July 16th. :)

I put a little circle around the "girlie" lol ;)

Singin' in the Rain!
For the past 3 weeks, Utah has been drowned in rain! Rain, Rain, Rain, RAIN! It's been unbelievable! It's definitely put a damper on our summer plans. The kids are extra bummed since we haven't been able to go to our favorite water park, Raging Waters. The season passes are ready to go, but alas the weather is not! It's been challenging trying to keep 3 kiddos happy indoors. But today, I just decided to let them enjoy the rain for a bit! They had lots of fun sloshing through the yard and stomping through puddles. Hopefully we will see the sunshine soon and it will finally feel like SUMMER!
Chloe and Nathan! Having a blast in the rain!

Farmington, NM
Last weekend my Aunt, Diane Holgate, was admitted to the San Juan Regional hospital. She had been feeling ill with a bad cough that wasn't getting better. They admitted her into the ICU. She had pneumonia and was in kidney failure. Things went from bad to worse as she soon slipped into a coma. She was Dx as having TSS, Toxic Shock Syndrome. A strain that is almost impossible to kill with antibiotics. Because of blood pressure issues she was given special medications to save her life. But in doing that she has lost her feet and part of one thumb. She is still very, very ill and in a coma. We are praying so hard that she will be able to recover. When hearing the news that she might be passing away, we piled all the kiddos in the van and drove to New Mexico. It was a long night. We got there around 3am and had to try 4 different hotels before we found one that had rooms available. We slept for a few hours and then got ready to head up to the hospital. It was so strange to be there. I've never been in the ICU before. SOO many sick people! I hardly recognized my sweet aunt DeeDee. She was so swollen, hooked up to tubes and machines, and just lying there. I was able to put on a gown and gloves and go into her room to be with her. I wasn't able to touch her, but I was able to tell her how much I loved her, and how much we were praying for her that she would be able to recover. We got home from our trip today.
Not much has changed with my dear aunt, but we are still praying that she makes it. She has an adoring husband that has scarcely left her side in the week she has been there. She has 3 daughters ages 23, 21, and 15. I know they all still need her here. I hope that Heavenly Father will hear our prayers and Diane will be able to be with us a little bit longer.
The Q kiddos were so great during the trip. Our days consisted of car rides, small hotel room, car ride, hospital waiting rooms, car rides.... you get the picture. Not a fun trip. But they were soo good! The afternoon before we left, I was able to take my kiddos, along with my aunt, cousins, and my mom, and go see the new Disney Pixar movie, UP. It was in 3D and it was AWESOME! I HIGHLY recommend this movie! I laughed and cried through the entire thing. It is definitely one of my top 5 movies. Atalie surprised me by sitting through the ENTIRE movie! She loved it. It was her fist time at the movie theater. Nathan got a little wiggly, and didn't like to wear the 3D glasses. Chloe of course did great! It was nice to get away from the hospital for a bit and let the kiddos do something fun. I know my Aunt Dee would be bummed that she missed our Disney outing. Get better soon DeeDee! We love you!
Natey and his LARGE bag of popcorn, he easily finished. GO NATE!

And he's done w/ the glasses. lol!

Cheesy face!

I had to put this one in here. She is such a lil terd. lol

Chloe gives UP two thumbs.... UP! lol

Crazy Att's!
Ok, I know I just posted a bunch of Attie pics, but I had to add this one! Oh my gosh! This girl is crazy! She definitely keeps us on our toes!! The other night, after dinner, Chris started a bath for the littles, I was in the kitchen, cleaning up dinner. Chris walked away from the bath to grab Nathan and when he came back, this is what he found!

And it's a......
We are very excited to be adding another little lady to our family!! I was able to go for an ultrasound on Wednesday evening and find out the gender of our baby! I went without Chris!!
I figured since this is our last baby, it is my last chance to do any kind of surprise like this.
I was 100% sure that this little baby was a BOY! But with in a few seconds of the ultrasound we knew without a single doubt that this little one was definitely a little GIRL!! I was sad for just a moment, not because we were having a little girl, but because Nathan would never have a little brother. But I am so thrilled to be a mommy to another beautiful Baby GIRL!! I'm sure Atalie is going to be an AWESOME big sister! I know I have loved having sisters. Even though we can fight like crazy we love each other and would gladly fight to the death to protect the other. My twin sister is one of my best friends and I know it is because we grew up so close together. I'm hoping that Atalie and this little girl can be best friends too, along with all the other Q siblings of course!
So Thursday evening I got my BFF to watch the kiddos while DH and I went to dinner. I drove 45 mins south, dropped the kids off, and then drove back home. Dh was already home, so I picked him up and we went to TX roadhouse. We have never been there before and the food was AWESOME! It was so nice to chat in the car, driving to the restaurant. We laughed and joked a ton and just really enjoyed each other. It's been FAR FAR too long since we have done that. We usually see a movie when we go out on a date, and so we don't really get to talk. lol. Anyways, after we ordered and got our drinks I gave him a card from the baby. I had my camera and I was going to recorded it, but I chickened out at the last min! LOL! I didn't know if he was going to be upset or not. So I gave him the card and he said "aw, what is this?!" When he opened it, he didn't see the front of the card, he just saw the inside and started to read it. I could tell what part he was at because he has this habit of mouthing what he's reading. lol. Anyways, as he got to the end where it said " I can't wait to meet you papa," he jerked his head up so fast and had this HUGE smile on his face and he said " It's a girl?!! The baby is a girl??!!' It was PRICELESS. I could just KICK myself for not recording it!! He was sooooo happy! I said "you aren't disappointed?" And he said "no!! not at all! I don't have a brother and I'm fine! I'm so happy to have another GIRL!" It was awesome! We had a great dinner and he just kept saying how happy he was the baby was a girl. He agreed on the name and we just had a really nice night. He said he loved the surprise and that it was fun to find out that way. :) I'm so glad it all worked out. :)
Her name is going to be Lydia Lee Quirante.
When Dh lived in the Philippines he was raised by his aunt ( his moms sister). She was called Na-nay, meaning "mother of all". She had three children of her own, but lost her husband at a very, very young age. She never remarried. She raised her three children as well as ALL of her nieces and nephews while the parents( her siblings) were at work. She ran the entire household and dearly loved all of her "children". When Chris's parents decided to move to the United States they had to work for three years in the US to save enough money to send for Chris and his two sisters, still living in the Philippines. Na-Nay was the one who took care of them while my in laws were so far away. I can't imagine the sacrifice Na-Nay made to raise all of these children. She was so selfless and such a wonderful woman. A few years ago Na-Nay developed a brain tumor and passed away. It was very sad for the family to lose such a central member. Na-Nay's name was Lydia. Lydia means "Noble kind". I DEFINITELY think this woman was of the Noble kind. She is someone I look forward to meeting in the next life.
The name LEE is a family name from my side. My grandma Rupprecht ( my mom's mom) was named Doris Lee. When my mom got pg she knew that if she had a daughter, she would give her the middle name of Lee, after her mother. Little did she know she was getting TWO daughters. :) Rachel, as first born, got the middle name Lee, after my grandma Rupprecht.
My Grandma was so witty and funny! She would always have us laughing! She loved to have fun, and play games. She was always happy to see us. She loved to craft, especially tole paint, and when we were little she would always have spare pieces of wood cut out for us to paint. She always praised us on our creations, even if we used up her good paint, and ruined her good brushes. :) When I was little my grandma used to always let my sister and I play dress up with her clothes. I remember loving to put on her nylon hose, and her shoes. I know that my grandma loved me. She didn't always live close, but I know she loved me. Last November, after a 10 year battle with Cancer, my grandmother passed away. It was a bitter sweet day. We knew the time was coming, and we knew her body was in so much pain, we would miss her, but I knew she was going to some place soo much better.
I think it was truly fitting that my mom gave my sister Rachel, the middle name Lee. I think she is alot like my grandma. To be around Rachel is to laugh. Man! does that girl know how make you laugh! LOL! She is very witty and has perfect comedic timing. She is killer smart too. She definitely got all the brains. I'm very happy I have her as a sister. I hope that by passing on the name Lee to our little girl, I can pass on all the good qualities from the family members she is named after. I hope she takes Na-nays selflessness and compassion and love, and I hope she takes the wit and humor and fun of my sister and my grandma. She is going to be an awesome little lady and I'm so excited to have her join our family!

The Q's are moving up!
One of the great things about home ownership is that when something breaks you get to fix it. (lol.) Our house was built in 1954 and not much has been updated in it since then. It's hard to believe we have been in this home for 4 years next month! This is the longest we have ever lived in any place since we got married 9 years ago. :) We have been slowly updating the house. We started with new appliances when we first moved in, followed by all new carpets, then we got new countertops. Soon it was time to replace all the windows and put up new vinyl fencing. And earlier this spring we had re-bath come and remodel our upstairs bathroom. And we are not near done yet! A few weeks ago, our ancient garage door bit the dust. This thing was OLD! It was a solid piece of wood that creeked and groaned every time you opened it. The bolts that held it together were striped and popping out. I just knew this beast was going to fall and squish one of us soon! So we decided it was time to get a new one! We are LOVING the new garage door! Not only is it sooo much nicer to look at, but it's SOOO QUIET! It has a keypad entry too wich is REALLY nice. I doubt our "to-do" list will ever be done in this house, but I'm happy we have been able to steadily keep crossing off the list!

Spring time fun!
Just a few pics of the Q kiddos enjoying some warm weather outside! This was just after Chris finished mowing the lawn for the first time this year. The kids were so excited. I don't know what it is about fresh mowed grass in the evening, but I remember loving that time as a kid too. :)

Upsidedown chloe!
BATS!!!!

No, I'm not talking about the cheesy movie starring Lou Diamond Phillips. (Although, I highly recomend this movie if you are looking for a good laugh :) )
The Quirantes had thier own run in with a bat a few weeks ago! Chloe and Nathan were in Logan, UT visiting their grandparents. I was at work most of the day and Atalie and Papa were home catching up on some yard work. Chris noticed something fly into our cherry tree and thought it was a bird. Upon further investigation he saw that is wasn't a bird but a BAT!! I was just walking in from work when he grabbed me and took me into the back yard to show me our new little guest. YUCK! We decided to call Animal Control and have them come and take it away since we wern't sure if it was sick or hurt. It was acting pretty strange and I was VERY nervous. ICK! Soon Animal Control came and picked up the bat. The man said it had a hurt wing and that he was going to take it to a park where they relase bats back into the wild. I was glad to have it GONE. It really gave me the creeps! But Chloe and Natey were pretty upset they missed out on a real, live BAT in our backyard! :)
Miss Atatlie!!
I'm slowing trying to catch up on our family blog now that I am feeling a bit better with this pregnancy. Things are calming donw a bit more too since the kiddos are all out of school!
